How to Level Up Your Cup of Organic Tea: 5 Recipes to Try Out!

Tired of drinking the same tea every day and want to switch things up? Then here’s some amazing recipes you can try out, to enjoy different kinds of organic teas with a twist. Organic teas are free from harmful chemicals and good for your overall well-being. So, let’s dive into these deliciously nutritious and flavourful blends that will be sure to give your senses a happy boost.

01. SPICE-ME-UP

Ingredients: (Serves 4)

12 green cardamom pods
12 black peppercorns
6 cloves
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
3cm piece ginger, roughly sliced
500ml full-cream milk
1 tbsp jaggery (powdered)
1 tbsp Russel’s Organic Supreme Noir Black Tea leaves

Method:

1. Pound the cardamom pods, peppercorns, cloves, fennel seeds, cinnamon stick and ginger into a coarse paste using a mortar and pestle.

2. Pour the milk into a small saucepan, add the pounded spices, and place over medium heat.

3. Add jaggery, stir until it’s completely dissolved, and bring to a boil.

4. When the mixture reaches boiling point, remove from heat and gently stir in the tea leaves. Cover and steep for 5 minutes.

5. Pour the tea through a small sieve into a jug or 4 glasses.

02. PINEAPPLE DE ICE

Ingredients: (Serves 4)


500ml boiling water
500ml ice cold water
½ can pineapple juice
½ freshly cut pineapple

4 tsp Russel’s Organic Heritage Black Tea leaves


Method:


1. Pour the hot water into a jug and add the tea leaves. Steep for 2-4 minutes.

2. Strain and remove the tea leaves. Let the brew cool for about 15 minutes.

3. Add the ice cold water and pineapple juice into the brew, and refrigerate until completely chilled. 

4. Pour the tea into 4 glasses and add some ice cubes and freshly cut pineapple pieces.

03. FRESH AS MINT

Ingredients: (Serves 4)

1/2 small cucumber

Handful of mint leaves

2 limes

4 tsp honey

Cucumber slices for garnishing

4 cups brewed Russel’s Organic Elegance Green Tea

Method:

1. Peel the cucumber, remove seeds and then puree it.

2. Chop the handful of mint leaves finely.

3. Mix the cucumber puree and chopped mint leaves with the brewed green tea in a jug.

4. Squeeze the juices from the limes into the mixture and add honey.

5. Cover the jug and chill the mixture for several hours.

6. Strain and discard the mint and cucumber.

7. Pour the tea into 4 glasses and garnish with the sliced cucumbers.

04. HINT OF MELLOW

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

1 piece fresh ginger root

1 piece fresh turmeric root

Lemon peel, cut into strips

1/4 tsp black pepper  

2 tsp honey

½ tsp Russel’s Organic Supreme Noir Black Tea leaves

Method:

1. Wash the ginger and turmeric roots and slice them thinly.

2. Mix the ginger, turmeric, lemon peel, and black pepper and keep aside.

3. Add boiling water to a jug and add the tea leaves and above mixture.

4. Steep brew for 10 minutes and then strain.

05. TASTE OF TROPICS

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

½ lime, thinly sliced

3 cups coconut water, heated

2 tsp honey

2 tsp Russel’s Organic Elegance Green Tea

Method:

1. Add the tea leaves and sliced lime to a 1L jug.

2. Pour heated coconut water into the container and allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes.

3. Strain and remove the tea leaves and sliced lime.

4. Place jug in the fridge to chill thoroughly.

5. Pour into 2 glasses and mix 1 tsp honey for each glass.
